The Goat

A mobile mechanic with a surprising talent, the Goat—whose real name is Robbie—looks like the offspring between Tom Petty and an actual goat. He's Vox's most trusted ally and does his best to keep him out of trouble.

Sortini the Squirrel

Vox often uses the squirrel shape-shifter for detective work. But, during his showdown with Sugar Pete, Vox soon finds out that Sortini possesses the warrior heart of a wolverine.

Pendergrass

Due to his amphibious nature, Pendergrass can speak both Oceanese and Terranean. He's a Dimmer and can go wherever he wants without being detected. Vox admits a disturbing truth to the platypus that he's never told anyone.

Valentina Rosales

Valentina is Vox's on-again/off-again witch-babe girlfriend and is as fiery as she is smart and gorgeous. Flush with good news, when she goes over to Vox's to celebrate, Valentina is confronted with the greatest betrayal of her life.

The Cracker Crew

With a ravenous appetite for crackers, this crew comes by their name honestly. Experts in everything from intelligence-gathering to assassinations, they ferry Vox deep into the heart of Skunk Ape territory to purloin a valuable weapon.

Donkeys

Donkeys are CashMoney's name for certain strip club patrons. The challenge every dancer faces, the scales she must balance, is giving her regulars enough attention so they continue ponying up cash without their Neanderthalian brains short-circuiting and convincing themselves they actually have a shot with her outside of the club.

Queen Gooka

Unlike the rest of her brethren, Queen Gooka doesn't care a whit about the skunk apes' religious talisman. All she cares about is sex. Bored with her reverse harem, she has her eye on a new conquest.

Achilles

Everything about Achilles is a mystery. Though Vox first thought he was merely a stray that had stranded himself atop a totem pole, this outrageously handsome cat goes wherever he likes and lands fish many times his size.

Jakob & Mina

Professors at nearby Marvin College, Jakob and Mina are natterlocks and have lived nearly 600 years. The twins unearth crucial information for Vox that may aid him in his battle against the zarq.

Duncan Panther

The king of Tampa's gangster underground, Duncan's network of cubs keeps tabs on everything happening around the Bay. When Vox visits in search of intel, Duncan agrees to share his findings, as long as Vox faces an insane test that he may not survive.

The Gardener

The Gardener is the owner of a weapon that terrorizes Vox. The two got off on the wrong foot and when Vox visits Fumiko to borrow something from Duncan, events with the Gardener take a disastrous turn.

Lester Watts

A University of Florida devotee, this perpetually horned-up, irascible Gator is Vox's football fandom archenemy, his oldest customer, and his friend. Lester's relationship with the reptiles is so close that he considers the gators in the swamp behind his house to be his pets.

Gronkolux

If you have a gronkolux after you, it's all over. As deadly as they are indestructible, these killing machines never get tired and they never cease their pursuit. When Vox and the Goat are relaxing in Ybor City, one marks them for termination.

Mrs. McGillicuddy’s Parrot

A French-speaking devil bird who terrorizes Mrs. McGillicuddy's PTSD-addled Yorkies, the Parrot is even more sinister than he seems. He hates Vox with an all-consuming passion, and their war results in one combatant getting disfigured for life.

Maria Del Dolor

"Maria of the Pain" is the only Madam Domina in Florida. Although nearly two hundred years old, she's Valentina's grandmother. As the most powerful witch in the region, Maria is an expert at healing and has her hands full trying to keep Vox and his friends alive.

Old Hunley

Old Hunley is a massive, wily hammerhead that strikes terror in the hearts of sea creatures up and down Florida's Gulf Coast. Because he's in possession of a powerful weapon that Vox desperately needs, a showdown between the two looms.

Feloni & CashMoney

As beautiful as they are talented, Feloni and CashMoney perform the most legendary dance the club has ever seen. But, soon after, one of them is struck by tragedy.

Vox Montague

Vox is no stranger to waking up hungover and with no clothes on. As the Kahuna of Tampa Bay, he juggles his role as a supernatural peacekeeper with drunken strip club shenanigans, money woes, and a tempestuous relationship with Valentina.

Vöspyrnatu

Vöspyrnatus are particularly insidious vampyres and incinerate their victims with venomous spit-blasts. Vox didn't think there were currently any vöspies in Tampa Bay. Though Sugar Pete had hidden his identity well, Vox gets intel that allows him to track the vampyre to his lair.
